The 2024 Pickleball season at the Quinte Curling Club starts Monday, April 29 with new pricing and schedules. Sessions are open Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 am - noon and 6 pm - 8 pm. Drop in games are $9 each, including HST. For keen players, an unlimited play option is available for $200 including HST. The season will last 19 weeks excluding dates when the Club is unavailable: May 15, June 10, June 12, July 1, August 5 and September 2. Belleville Choral Society’s next concert will be on Saturday, May 11 at 2 pm with the doors opening at 1:30 at St Matthew’s United Church 25 Holloway St, Belleville. Entitled ‘ANYTHING GOES’, the performance will live up to its name with selections celebrating classic jazz arrangements, musical theatre favourites and modern syncopated rhythms. As a special touch to this Mother’s Day weekend event, Music Director Heather Christiansen will conduct the premiere choral performance of Love Endures, a commissioned arrangement from pianist Tom Dietzel. Curbside pickup meal for seniors, May 16th, 2024 – pick up in Bloomfield
Prince Edward Community Care holds monthly curbside pick-up of meals. This event is on Thursday, May 16th, 2024, and the pickup location is the Bloomfield Town Hall, 289 Bloomfield Main Street, Bloomfield. Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions catering is preparing a scrumptious meal. The meal includes homemade soup, roast loin of pork, potatoes, vegetables, and lemon meringue pie for dessert. The cost is $20.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid for in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at the Bloomfield Town Hall. Only those who preorder and pay will be served. To order, or for more information, call 613-476-7493. Prince Edward Community Care invites seniors to join Ruth Dwight for a 6-week in-person drum circle series beginning on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024. Drums will be supplied in addition to many other percussion instruments including claves, maracas, and tambourines. No prior drumming experience is necessary. The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's in Belleville will be hosted on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 at Jane Forrester Park in Belleville (30 S John St). Registration opens at 9:30 am, and the Walk is from 10 am - 12 pm along the Kiwanis Bayshore Trail. Everyone is welcome to join us for this important community fundraiser. There is no minimum fundraising amount to participate, but everyone who raises $50+ will receive a t-shirt, while supplies last. Eastside Secondary School’s Musical Theatre presents the well-loved 1939 classic musical The Wizard of Oz on May 22, 23 and 24 at 7:00 pm and May 25 at 2:00 pm at ESS, 275 Farley Avenue, Belleville.
Tickets for the production of The Wizard of Oz are now available to purchase online at Eventbrite (https://eventbrite.com) or, if families want paper tickets, those are being sold in the main office at ESS (https://ess.hpedsb.on.ca/calendar) on school days from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (cash only at the office).
Tickets will also be available at the door before each performance.

The 2024 Pickleball season at the Quinte Curling Club starts Monday, April 29 with new pricing and schedules. Sessions are open Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 am - noon and 6 pm - 8 pm. Drop in games are $9 each, including HST. For keen players, an unlimited play option is available for $200 including HST. The season will last 19 weeks excluding dates when the Club is unavailable: May 15, June 10, June 12, July 1, August 5 and September 2. All participants are required to pay and sign a waiver before beginning play. For more detailed information, click here.
Belleville Public Library's Adult Chess Club is for ages 18 and up. The club meets every second Monday (bi-weekly) at 5:30pm. Bring your own chess board or borrow one from the library and meet with fellow chess players for a friendly game. All skill levels are invited to this informal, self-led program.

Active Living Programs for May for seniors 60+ available 5 days/week
Seniors 60+ are invited to get active, make friends, be well! Prince Edward Community Care offers over 50 online events each month for seniors 60+. Online Zoom fitness and arts classes along with socials are held Monday to Friday. In May, the Zoom webinar topics include “Native Plants and Pollinators” with Lise Bois; “The County Is Hopping, But Its For The Birds” with Terry Sprague; “Virtual Bingo” with Community Care staff; and “Mindfulness” with Tammy Orr, Mental Health Counsellor with the Prince Edward Family Health Team.
