8 Février 2019

Snow squall warning in effect for Feb 8 2019:

  • Bracebridge - Gravenhurst
  • Huntsville - Baysville
  • Port Carling - Port Severn
  • Town of Parry Sound - Rosseau - Killbear Park

Snow squalls and strong winds this morning.

An intense snow squall is coming onshore from near Parry sound south towards MacTier and extending inland towards Huntsville. This snow squall should remain relatively stationary for the next few hours before shifting southward later this morning.

Strong westerly winds gusting up to 80 km/h are also occurring today. These strong winds will generate near zero visibilities in blowing snow.

Local snowfall amounts near 15 cm per 12 hours are possible in the strongest snow squalls.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Road closures are possible.
