TEN THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT CNOY2023 HALTON HILLS WALKATHON FUNDRAISER

1. CNOY is a winterrific walkathon with tens of thousands of participants in 170+ Canadian cities that has raised over $57M over the past 11 years to support local charity partners combatting hunger, homelessness and hurt.

2. For CNOY 2023 Halton Hills, Links2Care and Georgetown Bread Basket are Gathering TOGETHER for Good (our theme!) as charity co-partners – pooling efforts, resources and 2+ decades of shared mission supporting Halton Hills in order to maximize impact in the face of growing need.

3. Our goal is to raise $40,000 and warm tummies and hearts by Gathering Together Team Captains, Walkers, Sponsors, Volunteers and Donors on the Coldest Night of the Year to experience just the tip of the homelessness iceberg.

4. Monies raised will be shared by Links2Care and Georgetown Bread Basket and used locally to support people struggling with hunger, housing and health issues.

5. Our walk takes place on February 25th in Georgetown from 4-7pm, starting and ending at Norval United Church (14015 Danby Road) with a Rest Stop at Holy Cross Parish.

6. Acton Rotary Club is hosting a second route in Acton for those who prefer to walk closer to their homes in that community.

7. You can choose to walk in person at our Acton or Georgetown events or off-site walking your own route.

8. Everyone can help. Case in point, meet Colton Couch - our inspiring, youngest, first-time participant, fundraiser extraordinaire! Here’s the adorable blurb from his donation page: • I am 5 years old and last year I saw people with yellow hats walking by my house. My Dad took me to talk to them and they told me they were helping people, so I wanted to help too. The nice lady I talked to gave me her hat as well! I have been collecting bottles and cans since the summer and if you want to help, please donate.

9. Local businesses championing our event include: • Rest Stop Sponsor: Rehman Real Estate Team, and Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate • Distance Sponsors: McDonalds Georgetown and Acton, George Grdic Group, Market Place Dental Centre, and Tim Hortons Acton • Goods and Services Sponsors: Norval United Church, Holy Cross Parish, and The Sign Shoppe

10. You too can Gather TOGETHER with us for Good by walking, donating, sponsoring, and/or volunteering at www.cnoy.org/haltonhills
